I was blessed to be in the wedding industry for many years. Some of my dearest friends are still in the industry. These extremely talented and qualified people are a hard working group. This is their vocation; the way they pay their bills--not their hobby! They are the Ultimate Pros!! The Party Makers!

Photos and Creative Touches need to be remembered!! Photographers and Planners are very important!!
When you meet with these amazing people be sure to communicate all of your particular likes and dislikes -your dream and vision. They are not mind readers! If you want to make changes, please do so in a timely manner. Last minute changes can cause havoc for a well orchestrated plan. Be considerate. Be kind. Communicate.

Flowers set the mood for the day!!
Clear communication is crucial for a well orchestrated ever. When hiring someone for a special event, mow my lawn, or clean my house--I can tend to forget about the personal side of their existence and focus only on the task. They may need to hear my thoughts and ideas more than once. They need my feedback and appreciation.

Hire a Licensed and Insured Caterer!
The contract provided by your vendors protects you as well as them. Be sure you go over every part of it before you sign it. Ask questions. Be clear about your vision! Be sure you and your vendors are a good fit!
On the day of an event, If you ask a vendor to do something not on the contract, they have the right to deny that request. They have prepared their team & themselves for exactly the job agreed upon. Their timeline is prepared for the ultimate flow and flawless outcome of your day. If they can find a way to do the extra task they will try...because you're their focus! If they can not because it will cause too much disturbance to a successful plan, that is their professional responsibility.
On your Special Day, your vendor is in 'game mode'! If they aren't as "smiley" as the first time you met, don't assume they are unhappy. This is "Go Time" and they have on their game faces!
Some are very gregarious by nature; others very thoughtful and quiet; some have small children & they have been up all night; some have teenagers; others are injured/hurting, but working. The common denominator is they are all committed to you and the job they have been contracted to do. Honored is how they feel to be included in your life at this moment.
If their face seems serious, don't fret! They are serious --about their job---about you! If their pace seems slower, don't worry! Their pace is set for the avoidance of obstacles and production of perfection--for your special day!! They are professionals.
