Leaky Eyes

💙Have you ever had one of those days where you sit around in your favorite t-shirt and pj pants all day, watch movies, and don't care?! I have. This occurs when one of my precious adult kid sets have left to go back home after an amazing whirlwind visit--- and they take the Grandbabe, too! Sometimes it's just a hard day missing the family. I cry for a bit then talk to myself to get it together. "Come on Angie...dry it up!"
It's a day that I really don't want to talk to anyone ... knowing I might cry again?! So I do laundry or make coffee or cook or watch another movie.
Then without a warning..I don't know how he knows... but he does... at just the right time.... while I'm looking at the pictures in my phone of the kids ... my sweet Hubby calls and asks, "How's Mimi?" He knows my eyes leak some days. He soothes me with his calm voice and reminds me “its all good”. He tells me he loves me and somehow makes me smile....all the while, I know how much he misses our people too!
These leaky eye days are not reserved just for those of us that travel. It's part of life's journey as our nest becomes systematically empty. We've done our job as parents...which means we've worked ourselves out of a job! No one tells parents as they hold that tiny baby how much they will love this human, regardless of how grown they get. A parents heart never closes!
So, I guess in a very weird way, life is saying, "Job well done!" "You have loved well; given Big hugs; kissed precious faces; and raised, by the grace of God, great young adults."
I'm so blessed to have so many people to miss! I am proud to now call these amazing adult kids my friends!

Trust Your Wedding Vendors!

I was blessed to be in the wedding industry for many years. Some of my dearest friends are still in the industry. These extremely talented and qualified people are a hard working group. This is their vocation; the way they pay their bills--not their hobby! They are the Ultimate Pros!! The Party Makers!
Picture
Photos and Creative Touches need to be remembered!! Photographers and Planners are very important!!
When you meet with these amazing people be sure to communicate all of your particular likes and dislikes -your dream and vision. They are not mind readers! If you want to make changes, please do so in a timely manner. Last minute changes can cause havoc for a well orchestrated plan. Be considerate. Be kind. Communicate.
Picture
Flowers set the mood for the day!!
Clear communication is crucial for a well orchestrated ever. When hiring someone for a special event, mow my lawn, or clean my house--I can tend to forget about the personal side of their existence and focus only on the task. They may need to hear my thoughts and ideas more than once. They need my feedback and appreciation.

Hire a Licensed and Insured Caterer!
The contract provided by your vendors protects you as well as them. Be sure you go over every part of it before you sign it. Ask questions. Be clear about your vision! Be sure you and your vendors are a good fit!
On the day of an event, If you ask a vendor to do something not on the contract, they have the right to deny that request. They have prepared their team & themselves for exactly the job agreed upon. Their timeline is prepared for the ultimate flow and flawless outcome of your day. If they can find a way to do the extra task they will try...because you're their focus! If they can not because it will cause too much disturbance to a successful plan, that is their professional responsibility.
On your Special Day, your vendor is in 'game mode'! If they aren't as "smiley" as the first time you met, don't assume they are unhappy. This is "Go Time" and they have on their game faces!
Some are very gregarious by nature; others very thoughtful and quiet; some have small children & they have been up all night; some have teenagers; others are injured/hurting, but working. The common denominator is they are all committed to you and the job they have been contracted to do. Honored is how they feel to be included in your life at this moment.
If their face seems serious, don't fret! They are serious --about their job---about you! If their pace seems slower, don't worry! Their pace is set for the avoidance of obstacles and production of perfection--for your special day!! They are professionals.

Professional Makeup Artist and Hair Designers are a must!
Breathe. Relax. Enjoy your Special Day and Event. Your chosen vendors have given you their very best!! Eat. Drink. Dance the Night Away knowing your Vendor Team has your back!!
And now begins your Happily Ever After!!

Baseball Wedding Styled Photo Shoot
"Take me out to the ball game" is a phrase that has been a part of my life for many years! I love the idea of creating a dream wedding at a stadium filled with all the elements of baseball and a wedding...at the same time! We had the privilege of doing this photo shoot at the Tennessee Smokies Stadium with the blessing of General Manager Brian Cox.

Imagine having your wedding ceremony on the field and the scoreboard lit up just for you! These are some of the fun picture elements that can be incorporated; Home Plate...The Dugout... The Pitchers Mound! Following the ceremony, your First Dance takes place on top of the Dugout!

After pictures, the chance to watch the game and to grab some kettle corn & rock candy appetizers with your friends in the stands is too much fun!
The casual Reception is a time for the Bride & Groom to change into their fun clothes! The guests casually eat as they socialize and watch their favorite team!! "Take me out to the crowd,"

Yes! There were days I wanted to run from the game and reinvent normal for our lives. It was a crazy hot messy way of life! Thankfully, we did this together....some days better than others. Many days we ached for our kids and Grands. God, by His gentle hand had us in the messy game of baseball for 23 years....it was our ministry...our heartbeat.
My husband was very talented at his vocation and we have great memories and friends....but now it's time to turn the page. I’m sure I’ll be yelling PLAY BALL somewhere back home and watching high school baseball until my Grands are playing the game....it’s what we do! So wherever the road goes the truth remains that
"With you, I am home!"

Now by the grace of God we are thrilled to be a part of COACHES HONOR MINISTRY. A ministry challenging and encouraging coaches to model Christ at home and at school. It was an honor to help launch this ministry with Wink and Reina. Now we get to come full circle & be a part of their staff! The Grace of our sweet Jesus is always orchestrating the ages and stages of our lives to bring Him glory and fill us with true joy!
Thank you Jesus for being in the messy and never flinching! Thank you for navigating our lives and bringing us here...to this time and place! You are a wonderful Savior❤️

The Alzheimer's Association asked today to use our photo...so sweet. It's been a tearful day for me.
My little Mom is so precious and so confused. Alzheimer's has taken so much from her. I love her dearly. I pray she can have glimpses of her beautiful life this Mother's Day.
