Remembering....when I bid farewell to the Coin Laundry in Small Town USA! I was doing my last four loads of sheets, towels, and comforters for the 2014 Season in Kodak TN!

All season I'd come to the Coin Laundry and done our clothes and met a new person every time! One thing we all all agreed on that we had in common was that we really didn’t want to be there! LOL! However, it isn't all bad when you are done with ALL your laundry in an hour vs. an all day project! I guess those big silver drums had a silver lining!

My trips to the laundromat were snapshots of the many different faces of society. I've been entertained by small children and the elderly. The flirty older gentlemen are quite the characters!! The local gossip keepers were the best source of information. Eye rolling teenage girls stuck helping their moms do laundry caused me to giggle!! The little cuties who like to put dollars in the change machine were so inquisitive! The ever present History Channel on the television taught me about the Real Big Foot & everything else I might need to know! The local Sonic had the best Slushy for keeping hydrated and cool!

I've was blessed to listen to a lot of life stories. Some are quite entertaining...and some are just sad. It seems talking to a complete stranger in the laundromat brings a relief to some folks & puts a small smile on their tired faces. It reaffirmed to me that listening to someone's Story is one of the best acts of kindness we can give! Being available to people in their messy times is something we can do. By the Grace of God, Ive been a giver and recipient of that kind of life story refreshing moment. ❤️
Unfortunately, I was unable to go out with the 75 year old man who asked so politely... But by God's Grace I hope a smile did cross his precocious face!
